Nintendo denies info on delay of Pokemon Go launch in Russia

MOSCOW, Jul 20 (PRIME) -- Japan’s Nintendo will not delay an official launch of popular mobile game Pokemon Go in Russia, although it has not set an exact date yet, Konstantin Govorun, PR manager of the company’s local branch, said Wednesday.

“(The date) cannot be put off, because it has not been announced. Officially we said ‘soon’ about the release. No changes have been made,” Govorun said.

Mass media has reported quoting sources that Pokemon Go’s launch was postponed indefinitely due to problems with servers.

Online edition TechCrunch said earlier that the game’s launch was delayed in Japan because of a possible threat of server overload.

Scavenger hunt mobile game Pokemon Go is currently available in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand and Germany. The game’s application is free for downloading, but contains pay options. It offers users to train their Pokemons – the word originated from “pocket monsters” – in real environment via augmented reality and look for creatures of other players.
